On January 27th, the finale of the E-sports tournament, G·League 2018, took place in Shanghai Mercedes-Benz Arena with led video wall support from Absen.
Started 12 years ago, G·League is the earliest E-sports tournament in China. Co-hosted by Next Joy, Gamefy and Douyu, G·League 2018 attracted 128 professional teams and a lot of individual players. The finale was played in the Mercedes-Benz Arena, which was formerly known as the Shanghai World Expo Cultural Center and seats 18,000 people.
To offer the best gaming experience for all the players, fans and audience, multiple professional technical gears were utilized in the high quality AV solution, including dynamic lighting fixtures, penetrating sound setups and top quality led video wall.
The competition venue installed the largest-ever four-sided LED display system in Chinese E-sports competition, with each side measuring 16M×9M, 20 meters above the floor. The LED displays were primarily used for live streaming the game and delivering competition messages such as team member and scoring information.
“Such a four-sided high definition led video wall system is able to provide clearer and closer views of the battles and game operations for each and every audience wherever they sit”, said Allen Ye, the Absen project manager on site of the competition venue, “the competition was broadcast live on the screen, as well as on the internet, and the high level of contrast ratio and refresh rate ensures excellent visual performance even on cameras”.
The project employs Absen’s pixel pitch 3.9mm rental product which features ultra-light and slim design and is able to offer best balance of visual performance and price.
